Currently living and creating among the trees in Greenville, SC, my home studio is surrounded by nature, providing a constant source of inspiration. Primarily an oil and acrylic painter, my recent work has drawn me toward watercolor as a more graphic and illustrative outlet.
Much of my artistic career was spent as a professional photo-retouching artist in the commercial photography industry. Along the way, my creative work has moved through painting, graphic design, photography, and back to painting again , each adding skills, experience, and new ways of seeing that continue to influence my work today.
Through bold shapes, expressive marks, and color, I can explore my experiences through abstraction and often find myself getting lost in the process of making. Shapes begin to take on a life of their own, often mimicking details in nature that might otherwise go unnoticed, the wisps of underbrush, layers of trees, or unexpected shapes within the landscape.
