Hi and welcome! My name is Katie Giard

I am currently living amongst the trees nestled in the city of Greenville, SC. Having spent most of my artistic career as a professional photo-retouching artist and leader in the commercial photography industry, I had the desire to reinvest time in a more analog art practice.

Through art, I’m able to push the boundaries as the director and creator of my own artistic vision. While i’m still discovering what those visions are, in this space I am evolving, staying curious, experimenting and connecting with myself to gain peace and clarity. My hope is that through connecting with myself that I can also connect with others through my work.

As my work has evolved I’ve noted memories and influences of source materials to be movies, music, fashion, and explorations in nature. Through gestural mark making and color, I fuse those moments in my life that quietly pull me towards a deeper understanding of what interests me and how I interpret those experiences.

I get lost sometimes in little details in nature that can otherwise go unrecognized. Evoking an emotional journey and how I find my place in this world. Finding strength and determination despite any obstacles, there’s always something beyond the the underbrush.
